most of the clowns in the audience weren't even born when Ayla was created.
not even talking about Tears For Fears... what a cracking update of that one - quality that even T couldn't ignore and just put in the set regardless if it fits or not.

kinda like how the Rave trend is being picked up also by Tiesto, but his past gives some opportunity to dig up not the most obvious rave anthems to revisit.

haha..maybe i am immune to that first part of the festival set now... but after 14mins it picks up a bit in my view. assuming it's OK to hear oldies in new jackets.

When it becomes the majority of the set, i'm a bit caught in two minds about it...
a) its a great nostalgia, and this crowd didnt live thru the first time round its "new" for them
b) this is a complete parody of who he used to be and at this point just tragic.

As a constant listener, I am somehow leaning to option A with severe comments Smile

But liking weekend 2 set better than weekend 1 Smile

oh yes Weekend 2 > Weekend 1 for me too.. but yeah... option B for me. Maybe its because i lived through the first time (2000-2003) - I remember those club nights, and have those great memories, that parody is more real for me. It's weird, because you'd expect the nostalgia levels to be higher but it is seeped in some regret what EDM has become.

A lot of times the way they use the old samples/sounds is just a joke. I'd rather listen to new artists that revive old typey sounds with new sounding melodies, than the parodies displayed by the old elite. It's still the obvious 'classics'..

Still, A for effort.
